Before embarking on his journey to cinematic greatness, a youthful Stanley Kubrick honed his talent for visual storytelling while serving as a staff photographer for Look magazine. From captivating portraits of boxer Walter Cartier to glamorous profiles of Frank Sinatra, Kubrick's lens captured a diverse array of subjects. The "1948" frames are inspired by the eyewear worn by the ambitious young artist in a portrait taken that same year by his mentor and esteemed photojournalist, Arthur Rothstein.
